What to Expect When Visiting Northside...
New is good, and we know it does carry with it some unknowns. We've all been "new" at one point and we hope here you'll find helpful information that communicates a little about Northside and what you can expect when you stop by. If you have any questions as you browse, drop us a note, we'd love to hear from you!
Northside is a place where lots of different people feel comfortable and appreciated.
Our common commitment is around the truth of the Bible and living lives that honor God and make our world a better place. While having the same style and feel, our three weekend services are focused on the same portion of the Bible usually from the same teacher. Both our Saturday and Sunday worship times offer a very relevant & up-beat feel with room for your style. At anyone of our weekend services, you might see people in their "Sunday" clothes and others who look like they may be headed to the lake. So, just come as you are, relax and enjoy. If your soul is drawn by diversity within a dynamic worship environment, one of our Saturday or Sunday services might be the ticket for you! We hope to see you soon!
“Thank you for visiting our website! I hope you find what you’re looking for as you’re clicking around. I hope that you’ll join us on the weekend for one of our three identical worship services. If you do, you’ll simply discover that we’re a community of ordinary people. We’re learning what it means to follow and love God. One of the things we know for sure, is that we are called to LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS & SERVE THE WORLD. Whether you’ve been to church a thousand times or haven’t given it much thought, I think if you come to Northside, you’ll walk away glad that you did. ” – Lead Pastor, David N. Rutherford.

All of our weekend experiences are designed with one idea in mind–to draw you closer to God. Whether through music, story, video or other media, teaching, or response time, we strive to create space for life-changing encounters with Him. Respond and participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable; We recognize that God prompts each of us differently. Our hope is that wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you would come away encouraged and challenged with a renewed sense of His great love for you.
We know you’re busy, but we encourage you to take a minute and check out our website. There is a quick video from our lead pastor so you can learn a little bit about him before you arrive. And, more importantly, if you have questions, please ask. You can send us an email or visit the Guest Services area in our lobby after the weekend services.
We offer age-appropriate programs for infant-6th grade in our Northside Youth Center where they’ll have fun learning about Jesus. Health and safety are really important to us so there are some guidelines you’ll need to know about when dropping off your kids. Once you arrive at NYC, head on over to the electronic check-in kiosks. Some friendly people will be there to help you navigate your first visit. You can also check out our Northside Kidz webpage for need-to-know details ahead of time.
We love students and we try to help them connect with God through laughter, great music, videos, and challenging messages from God’s Word. Our services are designed to be a place where anyone (from any walk of life) can come, feel comfortable, laugh, and be challenged to grow closer to Jesus. We strive to create a pressure-free environment for students where the message is biblical, practical, and applicable to life. Jr High & High School meet every Sunday during our 11:00am services in the HUB Cafe and have a mid-week service as well. College & Young Adults meet Tuesday nights @ 7:00pm in The Frappe House.
After church, if you are a first time guest at Northside, bring your filled out Connection Card to the Guest Services areas (look for the big blue banners located under both stairwells in the lobby) to pick up your gifts. Then...grab some hot coffee in our courtyard and hang out while getting to know some new folks. Oh, and don’t forget your kids! You can pick them up from the classroom where you dropped them off.
